Chapter 21
“Don’t Leave Me Again….”
Kian smiled
impatient with the boxes he bought. They were content with boy’s new clothes
and some toys. He felt so happy. He never thought buy something for some one
else would be this pleasant and felt so great. He would never stop for grateful
to The Lord for this blessed. He was so blessed even had to be inside girl’s
robe.
“They must like it and
thrilled, Shane, like I was when some one coming and gave us some new clothes,”
he remembered how it felt.
“Yes, of course, Miss,
the must be like it,” Shane smiled with a proud.
Kian sighed, “Well, come on, I can’t wait it, Shane!” with a
smile he went out from the clothes shop.
Shane came behind taking the boxes. He still had to smile proud.
He never thought Kian would be sensible like this, too sensible for a boy.
Another act came from Kian when he bumped to two little beggars
just in front of the shop, he gave them some pennies, and with a happy smile he
came up to the cart. Shane couldn’t even stop his proud feeling. ‘What a great
kid you are, Kian. Master didn’t mistake of taking you home’.

Mark sighed in
sadness when its time to say good bye came. He really had to go back to
Ireland. It felt so great to meet his old friend, and had a few time with them
for sharing his story with his new family, but Mark couldn’t hide his
disappointed and sad face to face he couldn’t bring Kian home. But yet he was
happy. Kian had new family, and he would be fine with them, Mark had to be
happy for him. And yes he would.
“At least we had try,
son, and you kept your promises,” Mrs. Feehily soothed his son.
“Yes, mother,” he
smiled bitterly.
“Well, time to go,
Mark, we could miss the ship,” Mr. Feehily remind his son gently.
Mark just nodded. And Sister Theresa and Sister Anne couldn’t
hold their tears. It was like letting their child go with their new parents and
never would coming back again.
“Thank you for
visiting us, Mark, and be good. Be a great man and a good son for your parents,
and be a good brother for you baby brother okey,” Father Simon gave her last
words for Mark.
“Yes, Father, I
promise would.”
Father Simon smiled with nodded. He felt so proud with this one
kid; he always could count on him.
“Father, sisters,
thank you for everything, and thank you for finding Kian’s great family. I
would be fine if Kian fine too.”
Father Simon, Sister Theresa and Sister Anne nodded.
Mark gave a last hug to both sisters and Father Simon. He knew
this would his last hug, cause he didn’t know would he come back here again.
Maybe not. He would never come back here. He didn’t have the reason to come
back here, he had lose Kian forever. Why should come back?
With the last words from Father Simon,
Sister Anne, and Sister Theresa, and saying goodbye to all his friends, Mark
went home with his parents. Mark couldn’t hold his tears when the cart leaved
St. Peters. The most hurt was no Kian with him.
Mrs. Feehily tapped his son shoulder
gently, “Well, don’t cry anymore, love,” she wept the tears. “Maybe we couldn’t
have Kian, but we will have this little one,” with touching her belly.
Mark had to smile. Yes. He would have baby brother, and he would
feel again the experience of being a big brother like he did to Kian.
He burst to his mother arms and hug her. “Thank you, Mother.”
Mrs. Feehily just kissed him. That was enough for Mark.
It was only few minutes from Mark’s cart
leaved the St. Peter, and the door had closed again, when a nice cart stopped
in the front of closed gate.
Kian couldn’t hide his nervous as looking
the gate. He was coming back here, after a year. But it felt different know. He
didn’t come back as Kian, he came back as Adeline. New looks, new dress, and
new status. He hoped no ones would recognize him as Kian, esp. his friends or
he would die in embarrassment. The one
he scared of was Tom. He would mocking him till death if he knew Kian had
changed into a girl. Kian just wished to die if that happened.
“I’m scared, Shane…”
“Scared, Miss?”
“I’m afraid they will
recognize me as Kian.”
“No, Miss, no one will
recognize you as Kian again. And you are not Kian, remember?
Kian had to nod. “Yes, I’m Adeline now,” with his low voice.
Shane just nodded.
“Shall we, Miss?”
Kian just nodded, and Shane opened the cart’s door for his missy
and helped him to step down.
Kian had to take his deep breath before he stepped in crossing
the gate.
Shane knocked the door for his missy, while Kian waited a few
step behind.
It didn’t need a long time when the door finally opened. An old
sister came out, and gave a friendly face like welcoming a new guest.
“Yes, Sir, can I help
you?” she asked warmly.
“Yes, Sister, Miss
Adeline McFadden comes for visiting,” and stepped a side.
The sister gave a confused smile, but she had to gasp in shock
with the little figures dressed in beautiful gown looked so pretty. She
couldn’t be him.
“It’s me, Sister
Theresa,” with a shy voice.
And Sister Theresa had even gasped in more shock. ‘My Lord, it’s really him!’
“Oh, My Lord,” but
then she smiled welcoming him, “come my child,” she opened her arms, and Kian
went to her arms for a hug.
“It’s great to see you
again, love.”
Kian just smiled.
“Come, come inside,”
she lead them in. “Father Simon must be happy seeing you again, love.” She
didn’t believe what the day was this?
Two St. Peter boys came after their adoption in the Kiane day. And of
course she couldn’t mention Mark’s coming to Kian, or that would make Kian sad.
She knew the boy’s feeling.
They went to the office guest room. But
Kian felt uncomfortable as he met some boys which were his old friends, and
looked at him with a jealousy eyes, and hated. He knew those eyes. They didn’t
much like a rich girl come here, and showing her richness with nice dress and
smells good. Kian shivered, he never thought he would get those eyes from them,
his old friends. Of course they didn’t know he was Kian. They only saw him as a
rich girl who came for visiting and only for charity.
“It’s alright, love,”
Sister waited for Father Simon to come.
“It’s great to see you
again, Kian, oh forgive me, Miss Adeline,” Sister Theresa corrected with gasped
for sorry.
Kian looked to Shane, who just smiled.
“No, it’s alright,
Sister, it’s been a year I didn’t hear that name. It felt good to hear again,
Sister.”
Sister Theresa gave the sorry look, but the smiled, “But you
look so beautiful in that dress, love, I almost didn’t recognize you.”
“That would better,
Sister.”
Again Sister Theresa gave the sorry look. “You are doing great,
love.”
Kian just nodded.
It wasn’t long when Father Simon showed up with Sister Anne, and
they looked surprised with his coming, but pleased to see the old St. Peters
boys didn’t forget where their came from. Kian burst into her arms and hugged
her tightly. And Sister Anne couldn’t
hold her shock face to see the changing Kian. She hadn’t imagined seeing Kian
in the robe, and that a bit hurt her. Kian must be feeling imprisoned. But he
looked so beautiful, never thought it was Kian.
Till Kian turned to Shane, and Shane knew the sign. He excused
going out side to bring the boxes.
Just as Shane came back with the boxes, in sudden a little boy
burst in with careless,
“Sister, is it true
Mark was coming for Kian!?” with his loud voice and curious little eyes, really
careless with the guest there. And that shocked Kian in hell. He froze in pale.
His heart beat so fast.
Everyone went pale. Sister Theresa rose up and grabbed the boy’s
wrist, “Bad behavior, Josh!” and dragged him outside.
Kian really paled. His heart beat so fast like ready to explode.
Shane right away held his hand.
“F…Fath..er… is true
?” with his tremble voice. Tears had already come slowly.
But Father Simon didn’t dare to answer it.
He looked to Sister Anne, “Sister Anne… is true Mark is coming
for me?” he even couldn’t hold his tears ran down.
Sister Anne gave a little look to Father Simon. It was no use to
lie.
“Kian_” Father Simon
took the words carefully.
“When!?” Kian cut him
with his breath had already up side down, going panic.
Shane looked even worried, ‘This
wouldn’t be good.’ And Sister Anne had seen the sign.
“Just before you
came, love,” he knew he couldn’t lie.
And that was like a daylight thunder. “NO! MARK!!!!!” he burst
out and run to the gate with tears.
“KIAN!!” everybody ran
out to catch the boy.
“No!! Mark, come
back!! I’m coming with you. Please come back, … Mark! please…, don’t leave me…
again, you’ve promised, Mark!!” he was like one year ago, cried so bad for Mark
didnt leave him. But again there was no Mark there. The cart had left just not
long before Kian came.
Kian fell on the ground, kneeling in tears, didn’t care he was
in a girl robe. He cried, and cursed himself for coming late. He cried
hysteric. He knew his body couldn’t take his hysterical. He started to lose his
breath. He panted for the air. But his panic made it worst and he lose it.
Strong hands catch his body before he fell to the ground
